You can switch from **Free** to a paid subscription and back at any time. When switching between subscriptions, you will be charged a full month's fee for the days when a paid subscription was active. To switch to a paid subscription: 1. Go to ![image](../_assets/console-icons/person-pencil.svg) **Subscription** and select a new one. {% endcut %} ## How billing works {#details} The [organization administrator](https://vibe.sourcecraft.dev/portal/docs/en/sourcecraft/security/index.md#organization-manager-admin) assigns a subscription to a specific member. Assignment alone does not start billing. The subscription license is activated when the member first spends [neurocredits](#cu) or uses [advanced SourceCraft features](#tariff-differences). The administrator can also activate and confirm the license manually. {% note tip %} The administrator can assign different subscription levels to organization members. {% endnote %} After the first activation, the license remains active and is billed monthly regardless of subsequent usage. For the month in which the license is activated, the charge is prorated based on the number of days remaining in that month. If a member activates different subscriptions within the same month, only the most expensive one is billed. A subscription upgrade takes effect when it is first used or activated manually. Downgrading or deactivating an active license takes effect the following month. Before its first activation, a license assignment can be transferred to another member. Once activated, the license cannot be reassigned. ## Neurocredit {#cu} SourceCraft, Code Assistant, and VibeCraft use different large language models (LLMs) for different tasks and modes. Model resource consumption is measured in _tokens_. Each model uses its own tokenizer for text processing, so the number of tokens in the same text will vary by model. Models considerably differ in performance speed and resource usage, which directly affects their cost. The quota is calculated using _neurocredits_, a generalized unit of consumption. Different models consume different amounts of neurocredits. {% note tip %} To estimate the neurocredit consumption level typical for your tasks, use the **Free** plan. For more information, see [Viewing quota usage](https://vibe.sourcecraft.dev/portal/docs/en/code-assistant/concepts/limits.md#utilization). {% endnote %} Each organization member has a personal neurocredit spending quota determined by their subscription. An assigned but unactivated paid license does not increase the quota. The SourceCraft UI provides detailed statistics on quota usage for [neurocredits](https://vibe.sourcecraft.dev/portal/docs/en/sourcecraft/pricing.md#cu) and [code autocompletion](https://vibe.sourcecraft.dev/portal/docs/en/code-assistant/concepts/index.md#autocompletion). For more information, see [Viewing Code Assistant usage statistics in SourceCraft](https://vibe.sourcecraft.dev/portal/docs/en/sourcecraft/operations/code-assistant-stats.md). {% note warning %} Unused monthly neurocredits do not carry over to the following month. {% endnote %} Registering a [personal organization](https://vibe.sourcecraft.dev/portal/docs/en/sourcecraft/concepts/index.md#org) grants a welcome bonus of 4,000 neurocredits, valid for 3 months from the date of issue. Bonus neurocredits can only be used with internal models. For internal models, the bonus quota is consumed first, followed by the selected subscription's quota and then [PAYG](#payg). The bonus does not apply to [external models](#external-models). ## Additional usage (PAYG) {#payg} PAYG (Pay As You Go) is a billing model based on actual usage. It is available only with paid subscriptions and is enabled separately. The [organization administrator](https://vibe.sourcecraft.dev/portal/docs/en/sourcecraft/security/index.md#organization-manager-admin) enables PAYG for [neurocredits](#cu) for specific members and sets an additional usage limit for each of them. The organization limit is the sum of these individual limits; the limits do not reserve funds. When you enable the service for the first time, you get a 90-day trial to test all its features for free. When enabling the **Code Assistant Pro** plan, the organization [administrator](https://vibe.sourcecraft.dev/portal/docs/en/sourcecraft/security/index.md#organization-manager-admin) selects the required number of seats and assigns them to specific organization members. If a member no longer needs a seat, it can be reassigned to another person. The quota for the number of [neurocredits](#cu) is aggregated across all seats and is assigned to the organization. For users who are not assigned seats, the **Code Assistant Free** plan applies, but only within their [personal organizations](https://vibe.sourcecraft.dev/portal/docs/en/sourcecraft/concepts/index.md#org). After the quota in a personal organization is exhausted, access to Code Assistant is suspended. > For example, an organization has 10 members. The administrator purchases the **Code Assistant Pro** plan for 4 seats and assigns them to 4 specific organization members. A shared expanded quota is created: > > `2,000 neurocredits * 4 seats = 8,000 neurocredits` > > Members with assigned seats get access to the shared expanded quota for using Code Assistant, while the remaining 6 members can work with Code Assistant within the quota of the **Code Assistant Free** plan from their personal organizations. During the month, one of the members realizes they do not need the expanded quota. Then the administrator reassigns that member’s seat to another person.
